Why Do People Choose To Live in a Village?
  • Your voice is heard in Government.
  • Want sidewalks plowed
  • Want small community relationship with their public officials.
  • Want immediate attention to resolve small community issues.
If there were no Village Government ...
  • Would Main Street look the way that it does today?
  • Would waterlines be up-graded?
  • Would Senior Housing be going on Main Street?
  • Would pressure be put on Xspand or Erie County for the vacant properties and tax relief?
  • Would we have anyone marketing our distressed properties?
  • Would anyone stay on top of encouraging business growth in the community?
  • Would the K&L demolition have taken place or would an old, unsafe building still be standing in the middle of our business district?

The Community Service and Volunteerism/Leo's Club (CS&V) is holding their fourth annual Lock-In-A-Box on Friday, May 29th to Saturday, May 30th, 2009. The activity involves students and teachers sleeping in boxes for a night, raising money and awareness about what it's like to be homeless. During the Lock-In students will travel the streets of the Village of Angola collecting returnable cans and bottles to raise money for the local food pantry called Operation Good Neighbor and Friends of the Village. Students will dance to earn their meals, participate in team building activities and watch a movie about making the best of your life. The activity centers around the idea to see how precious life can be and to help other people whenever you can.You can help others too! Please begin to collect returnable cans and bottles. Students will be in the Village collecting them on May 29th between the hours of 6:30pm and 8:30pm. If you do not live in the Village, you can also help by dropping off your cans and bottles at the Middle School loading dock (located behind the school) on May 29th between 6 and 9pm. Any help you can give is very much appreciated. If you have any questions or would like to help in any way, please call the Lake Shore Middle School office at 926-2400.
