The Village of Angola is seeking proposals from artists to paint a mural on North side of the building located at 167 North Main Street, home to the popular take out restaurant, Angola's China Kitchen. The mural will be painted directly on the outside of the brick building. The art will welcome visitors into the Central Business District in the Village of Angola. The placement of the artwork will allow visitors to take photos and share the mural location on social media. The goal of the mural is to bring vibrancy and meaning into the area, create a sense of community and show historical identity. The art will start conversations in the community and bring people together to view the work.

A commission of up to $5000 is available for the chosen artist. Artists are required to provide all supplies and materials to complete the work.

Interested artists should submit a bio, past drawings, and a sketch to Nicole at angolaclerk@villageofangola.org or call 716-549-1126.

This program is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrant program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by Arts Services Inc
